What is Plex not Available Outside Your Network?

Plex:

Plex, a client-server media player and suite of additional software, is available on many desktop operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, and maces. It can organize and stream movies, TV, web music shows, podcasts and other media on your favorite sites.

However, some users reported that they encountered a problem while using this software. You received a “Not Available outside Your Network” error and were unable to access the Plex server remotely.

How can this problem be solved?

Read on and get the answer.

Solution 1:

  • update Plex to the latest version

Sometimes there can be errors in the Plex software which could be the reason why the Plex server is not being accessed remotely. Fortunately, developers keep updating software to update new features or fix bugs.

Therefore, if you see a “Not Available outside Your Network” error in Plex, you need to update the software to the latest version first. Then check if you can use the remote access function. If it still doesn’t work, try the next solution.

Solution 2:

  • Temporarily disable third-party firewalls

Some users use advanced firewalls to protect their computer from attack by others. In some cases, these firewalls can prevent connection to the Plex server and prevent Plex Remote Access from working.

If you’re using a third-party firewall, you can temporarily turn it off. Then restart your computer and run Plex to see if the problem is resolved. If you don’t want to disable it, you can make sure the following IP addresses are not blocked in the firewall:

  • 245,172.51
  • 59.52
  • 250.227
  • 49.143
  • 34,171.72

You can check them in the settings of the third-party firewall software. Next, restart your computer and see if you can access Plex remotely.

Solution 3:

  • Ride an electric bike

Plex is a program that uses many parameters at the same time. In the event of an error or an incorrect configuration, problems can arise when using the software.

You can turn off the server and the computer you want to use. All you have to do is turn them off and unplug each power cord. Then press and hold the power button for at least 4 seconds to drain the power to the left. Wait about two minutes, then plug it back in and turn on your computer.

You can then open Plex and see if Plex is not yet available outside of the network error.

Your router should have a pump or NAT-PMP configured automatically so that Plex can configure a port on the router without any additional steps.

If you see that Plex is not available outside of the network error, enable it using the steps below.

Step 1:

Start your browser and enter the IP address of your router in the address bar, e.g. B. 192.168.8.1.

Step 2:

To your router settings.

Step 3:

Find the pump or NAT PMP options and enable one of them. If it’s on, turn it off and then on again. Fix 4: Send port manually

If you’ve tried all of the above solutions but the problem persists, you may need to forward the port manually. This process can be tedious, so please follow the steps below in order.

Motion 1:

Set up a static IP address for your computer

The first thing to do to manually port the port is to assign a static IP address to your computer. You will need the following:

 Step 1:

Right-click on the network you are using in the window that opens and select Properties.

Step 2:

Select the Networks tab and double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) to open the functions. Step 4: Select the following IP address and enter the default IP address and gateway you want to set.

Motion 2:

 Port transfer on the router

Here is a list of variables required to send a port to the router and you can refer to your router’s manual for instructions on the port.

IP Address: The local IP address of the computer on which the Plex program is running. Handoff 3: Set up the Plex server to use the port

You can now configure your Plex server to use the port.

Step 1: Open Plex in your browser and log in with your account. Then go to Settings> Server> Remote Access.

Step 2: Select Show advanced option and manually check that the public port is selected. Then enter the set WAN / external port.

Step 3: Click “Apply” to save the settings.

Plex is a set of client-server software streams and media. This includes the Plex Media Server desktop application, which is available on Windows, Ubuntu, and macOS. These programs allow you to organize and access various media files on your computer if you provide the online players with the correct information. This is a wonderful feature that has become very attractive over time.
